On 3 March 2013, the Swiss population voted in favor of the Minder Initiative. The Ordinance against excessive Remuneration has been published on 20 November 2013 and contains transitional provisions relevant as of 2014.

The provisions of the Ordinance have strong implications in the area of Executive Compensation for all companies which are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange. Especially, companies need to focus their efforts on an active dialog with their shareholders about Executive compensation.
